Advantages and Disadvantages of Becoming a Freelancer
Flexible working hours
If you have been thinking about becoming a freelancer, then you already know some of these advantages, but in case you don’t know them, this is the right time and place to learn everything you need to know. The first advantage is that you will have flexible working hours, which mean that you can decide when you will work and for how long. If you don’t feel like working for the weekend, then you can easily do that, and nobody will be angry at you. In case you are a deep sleeper and you are afraid that you will fall asleep for your work, you don’t have to worry about that anymore because the work starts when you decide so.
Working Wherever You Want
If you don’t want to get up every single day and drive an hour to your workplace, then the solution is to become a freelancer because this way you can work from wherever you want. Most people will work from home, but if you are traveling you can just take your laptop with you and work from the other side of the planet if necessary. Finding a place where you are most productive is now a possibility and you can explore where you feel the most comfortable.
Not Having a Steady Income
As a freelancer, you get all those great benefits from above, but what about the disadvantages, are they any? Of course, there are many disadvantages to this type of job and one of the first ones that I am going to share with you is something most people don’t like which is unreliable income. That’s right, freelancers will never have a steady income which means that one month can be very good for you and you can make a lot of money, but the next one might be a complete disaster. If you have a family to take care of or a lot of bills to pay, then this might not be the best option for you because you cannot rely on a steady monthly payment.
Having All the Responsibility
Of course, even at a regular job, you will be responsible for certain things, but in most cases, you will be provided with some job that needs to be finished. Well, in case you choose a freelancer job, you won’t get anything done for you by other people, everything that you will be doing will require a lot of effort from you. If you want new clients, you will need to go out and search for them. You will be the one responsible for finding projects and working on them, therefore if you don’t know how to approach people, you should stay away from a job like this.
